It's a boy's name to me, although admittedly I've never met one of either gender. Connemara is a very unisex place name imo, I see no reason why you shouldn't use it on a boy if you want to.

I think it was the 'mara' bit that made me think it wouldn't be good for a boy, but I'm glad you think it could be for a boy. I'm still just not sure which gender to assign the combo to though... although everyones opinions have been helpful. I haven't ever met a Shea, so I can't really use that to decide. I was hoping for something close to unanimous (sp? sorry) but I guess its not so simple.
