[Opinions] Re: Nickname dream
in reply to a message by elysa
Isn't "nil" a slang way of saying "nothing." Just because I like a challenge, names from which Nil could be derived:Niall ("nile")
Nils ("neelz")
Cornelius
Nicholas
Nigel
Neville
Lionel
Nathaniel
Daniel / DaniloBy the way, I met a woman once whose nn was Nilly / Nillie. it was short for Nilofer (sp?), a Persian girl's name.

No, it is not.http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=nil&x=0&y=0Nothing about slang in any of that.It may be commonly used in the vernacular, but 'nil' is also used in place of none/nothing/zero etc in legal language and other very formal settings. It's not slang.
