I like it.

I see it as female of Johann ('Yo-hahn') and that is how I'd pronounce it. Ok, name but nothing special.

I love the pronounciation yo-HAN-ah. jo-HAN-ah is also good, but a bit hard for me to say (I lose the H if I pronounce the J). Niether of those is Hannah (with a nasally A) but Hanna (with a soft A). I don't like jo-ANN-a either. I love it spelled Joanna, but not spelled Johanna. They're not interchangable!

I like it JoHAHNa, like the first option.
I used to think it was way too pretty, especially with the H in there, and the short yawny A that's so popular among excruciatingly pretty names. Gah. However, since I've gotten into Johann, Johanna has been appealing more and more to me as a feminine form of it.

I like Jo HAWN uh best. I really love the name Joanna, pronounced Joe-Ann-Uh, not Jo-Awn-Uh.

I pronounce it jo-WA-na. I would think of jo-HAW-na being an ethnic pronunciation. I like it better than the other.

I think Johanna (pronounced Jo-hannah) is an okay name. One of my best friends from 4th grade through high school (and I suppose we're still friends) is named Johanna Carroll (father's middle name, grandmother's maiden name). I personally like Joanna better. Her name was mispronounced by teachers somewhat often though. They'd pronounce it with a soft J and open the A more, like Yo-HAH-na.

I've heard it SO many different ways, but when I was growing up, there was a teacher with a little girl named Johanna and they always prn. it like Joe + Hannah. She was the only Johanna I've ever actually met so I thought that was the 'proper' pronunciation for the name until I came here. :b BtN has it listed with the beginning as "yo" instead of "jo", and I've heard of it being pronounced like Joanna once or twice, too. I guess it's like Helena--there are several correct answers, perhaps. :)

It was my great-grandmother's name, pronounced "jo-HAN-uh." But I know one Johanna now (U.S.) who pronounces it "jo-HAWN-uh." Both ways are pretty to me. I suspect most people (here at least) would pronounce it "jo-HAN-uh."
