[Opinions] Melot
I was watching Tristan & Isolde earlier today and noticed that a male character in the film had the name Melot. It was pronounced MEH-lo. What is your impression of the name? Is it too similar to the word mellow? Do you find it to be more masculine or feminine sounding? My personal impression is that it is a gorgeous name (possibly for either gender). However the soda Mellow Yellow does come to mind when I hear the name, so you may just be asking for a person to be teased. Thanks in advance for any opinions!

I saw Merlot firstand now that you mention it, mellow too. It's really not that bad, but that's what I thought of first. I wouldn't use it but it's okay.

Ditto; I saw Merlot at first, too.g

Too close to mellow IMO, and while I don't know about the soda Mellow Yellow there is a song with the same name.

Way too close to mellowIt's really unusable and, while I've never heard of the soda Mellow Yellow, the teasing possiblilites are too great (mellow, Merlot, etc.). It would also get pronounced as MEL-ott all the time.
