[Opinions] Italian odd name
I finally found an English version of this story
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20071218/od_uk_nm/oukoe_uk_italy_nameIncidentally, the kid's name, Venerdì, is much weirder in Italian because word names aren't really used and there's less variety in names the first place. Otherwise, personally I think it's not such a bad idea for the state to push parents to reconsider some of their choices, but it's unfair to impose the name of the saint of the day, especially considering some are odd as well. They should have forced the parents to pick themselves another, more normal name.
ETA: I also think control on name choices should be made at birth, not afterwards, especially in a case like this where a priest had agreed to baptize the child after all.
