[Opinions] WDYT of Raiden?
You know Aidan, Braden, Caden, Hayden, Jadon but have you heard of Raiden? I read a book by Laura Joh Rowland and found the name there. It is Japanese and means "thunder and lightning". I am not sure if the name is prounounced as "Ray-den" or "Rye-den" in Japanese, but in English it would probably be pronounced as Rayden.I think it would be a nice alternative if you like aden-names but find the others too popular. I like the meaning too, the same meaning as Tor (or Thor) has. The god which gave name to "Thursday"."You sought a flower and found a fruit. You sought a spring and found a sea. You sought a woman and found a soul. You are disappointed."

I think it's pronounced Ry-den. I prefer this pronunciation but i'm not too fond of it either way.

I went to school with a girl name Raegan and alot of the time people misprononced her name and called her Raiden. I prefer Raegan.

Yes, raiding or raisin. Maybe a cross between both. My personal opinion is that there are already way too many names out there rhyming with Aiden.~*|Bethany|*~

It reminds me of Mortal Kombat. I dislike all Aiden names for the most part. Also it sounds like someone who's been pillaging. Good suggestion though.

ITA...I immediately thought of Mortal Kombat.

I'm not into it. I also think of 'raiding'. I know around here we don't say hunting we say huntin' and instead of fishing it's fishin' so naturally I would think it's a cruel joke to shorten raiding to raiden for a name.

Hmm . . . I think of "raiding"

I agree. I think of "raiding" as well. It has a cool sound to it but I always think of the whole raiding association. He would probably be lost in the sea of Braydens, Haydens, Jadens, Aidans, etc. (since there are so many of them now. And he might also be called Braden, Jaden, Caden, etc. by mistake.
