I think you have the direction of the derivation backwards -- Nonie would be derived from Ione.
I think that most scholars would you use the three syllable pronunciation "eye-OH-nee" in English. But there are a great many American women who have borne this name who have pronounced it in two syllables as "eye-OWN."

I thought to pronounce it I-oh-nee like in "HERMIONE."
