[Opinions] Daveigh?
WDYTO Daveigh (da-vay, vay as in 'hey')? Several places state it being American(?) and meaning 'Beloved'.

No I really don't like it. It's the name of the girl that plays the annoying kid in "Donnie Darko".... Davina is a nice alternative.
Deveigh Chase was the girl who did the voice for Lilo, in the Disney cartoon Lilo and Stitch. It was pronounced the way you had, but spelled with an 'e' instead of an 'a'. That's probably where it came from...
Personally, I don't like it. It looks kre8tif and tryndee and wouldn't age well by any means.

I've heard of it before but don't know about it's origin. I really dislike it.
It's hideous, honestly. There is no 'American' language. Here in America, we speak english. It looks like a kree8yff form of Davie (as in the nickname for David) to me. And the dah-vay prn is going to always be mispronounced.
I would like to know what these 'several places' are. I assume baby name books, which often make up meanings.

Yep, that.
David means "beloved"...so I suppose they get maybe 1/8 credit?
LOL, they probably should.
I agree, but
I think she meant that it was American in origin, which really isn't something to be proud of. Yes, baby books make up meanings, but assuming it is some horrible off shoot of David, at least this time, they got the meaning correct. You're certainly right about how incredibly hideous this "name" is.

Ditto
With that spelling it looks like it should be pronounced day-vee. With that pronounciation it sounds like duvet. One would assume it is a varient of David, so it would mean beloved. I have no idea what sex it is supposed to be for, by the spelling I would assume it's a girls name. I think its awful. Awful.
