WDYT of Hannelore as a mn or fn? Also how do YOU prn it cause I'm a bit thrown of by the BtN pronounciation with the ru at the end. I've been saying HA-na-lor

"hannah" + "lora / laura"

In German, the final "e" is pronounced ("eh" or "uh").

In German, I think it is hah-nuh-lo-ruh?

I like Hannelore, but I don't think this spelling is a god idea in Englisgh speaking countries. I pronounce it 'Hah-ne-lorah'.

I like Hannelore as a first name. I say it HAH-ne-lo-ru because it's German and the "e" at the end of German words are always pronounced.

I would say HAN-eh-lor-uh...the "lore" part sounds like Laura.

I think that's because it's German and in the German language, and -e on the end sounds like "uh".

I think Hannelore is very pretty, but I think theres going to be some problems with people pronouncing it wrong, or spelling it like Hannah-Laura.

I was thrown off by the BtN pronunciation as well. I say HA-na-LOR-uh, and I quite like it like that, although I like yours as well. As for the name itself, it's not my favorite, but I do like it and would enjoy seeing it on someone else's child. It's pretty and feminine but not too girly or cutesy.

I love the name Hannelore, I have a friend who's originally from Germany and she pronounces it: HAH-na-lo-ru nn Hanne (HAH-nu) so I've always said it that way.

Though I think your pronunciation could work because like Chrisell said other German names that end with an e are usually pronounced e in English speaking countries.

It's a German name, and in German, that final 'e' makes an 'uh' sound*. I pronounce it hun-uh-LOR-uh - in my accent it sounds like Hannah-Laura.

I really like it, it's got a very soft sound to it. In an English-speaking country, you could Anglicise the spelling slightly (Hannelora) to ensure it was pronounced correctly, but people do deal with unusual pronunciations anyway.

* Other examples of this German pronunciation: Charlotte (shar-LOT-uh), Anneliese (ann-uh-LEE-zuh).
