I love the name Ava! I think it's so classy and feminine, despite its popularity. Ava Elizabeth is a lovely combination (though I prefer the spelling Elisabeth...a little less common and softer imo). Ava Grace is nice, too. Some other suggestions:

I think it is a gorgeous name, but to me it just brings to mind Eva Braun and i think that ruined it for me.

I used to dislike it but lately it's really grown on me. Very pretty. But too popular right now! If I had an Ava I would name her Ava Catherine.

Ava Gardner's combo was Ava Lavinia - I think it's gorgeous.

It's a pretty name, but there are a lot of them, as you've noted. It's the Lisa, Jennifer, Ashley and Lauren of the time period. Not that those arn't all good names, too.

I'm really not a fan of Ava since it's so common, but I'm really glad you don't want to use Elizabeth or Grace as a MN! (I'd advise against Kate as well.)
