The problem--for me, at least--is that she says it unequivocally:
Luisa is bad, badbadbad, and it's clearly lesser than English
Louisa. The way her post reads to me suggests that either she thinks
Luisa is one of those newfangled misspellings, which
is quite ignorant, or that it's just not as good as
Louisa, which
is ethnocentric.
I'm all for the disliking of names and the admitting to disliking names that you really find ick, for whatever reason. After all, look at my reaction to Harlow (namely
JESUS CHRIST IT'S A LION GET IN THE CAR), as just one example. But to me, scholasticastewart came off less as "
I don't like this name," and more "This spelling has no inherent value," which I'm hoping we can all agree simply isn't true.
