[Opinions] Also: Questions on Initials.
in reply to a message by Siri
One of my favorite combinations is Ivy Cecilia. Her initials, however, would be ICK. Now my nieces and nephew love their initials on things, is this an issue? (My youngest niece's initials are LGB and several people have joked on her initials - and they're not as overt as ICK is.) Also, is JRK a problem? It's one letter away from jerk.TY.

I don't think it's a good enough reason to be put off of names you otherwise like, especially as it's not something like Anne Sarah Smith or Simon Henry Ingall-Thomson which would deal very bad results indeed...

ICK is out, I feel - it's just asking for trouble. I think it's nice to have a decent set of initials to put on things, and I'm grateful that my parents decided not to give me the initials JAW :-DJRK is touch-and-go . . . I avoided Jean Rosalie for a while the year before last because I was dating a guy whose surname started with K, because of the 'jerk' problem. But she might get away with it.

I know that a lot of the baby books think those sorts of initials would be a big no no. But, really, unless the middle name is known to the classmates and whatnot, I don't see it being too big of a problem.

But I think of monograms, having your initials on things, etc. Then it is a bit of a problem. *shrugs*

my initials are ARM, and it never bothered me too much. also, alot of places such as Polo monogram middle, first and then last. so it would be CIK.
