I must respond since my name is Angela. Since I've lived with it all my life, I'm sort of indifferent to it. It is a name that dates someone. You would probabaly guess I'm in my 30's and you would be right. At my child's daycare, I know a 4 year old Angela, and it's very bizzare. For kids under 5, Angelina is actually more common. But as plain as Angela is, I much prefer it over Angelina, which is just too over-embellished, like so many names today. For example, I just don't get why Isabella is more popular than Isabel, although I realize both are popular. I happen to go by the nn Angie, and my opinion is eh, I'm indifferent to it. I'm just glad my parents didn't name me Jennifer or Amy.

I love it! My favorite teacher in high school was named Angela "Angie". And my Mom's best friend is named Angela.

I'm not a fan of Angie, but I actually think Angela is pretty. I know a lot my age, but non under the age of 24. :)

Love it and it's a family name for me. I've seriously considered putting it in the middle name slot for my top girl combo lately. I like Angie as the nickname.

I think Angela has a pretty sound to it, but it's so so common. It's almost on a level with Sarah, Elizabeth and Jennifer, what I'd call second-tier default names. (The first tier being Jane and Mary.) It's okay, but I don't like it nearly enough to ever want to use it.Don't like the nn Angie. Makes me think of some overaged teeanger who tends to laugh very loud and long at things that aren't really all that funny. The kind who is the "life of the party" when sober, but is just loud and shrill when you get a drink into her. lol
