I work with a woman named Beruktawit. She was born in Italy, but she thinks it may be Hebrew or Arabic.
From a little Googling it seems clear that this is an Ethiopian name, which makes sense if this woman was born in Italy, as Italy was the colonial power that conquered Ethiopia. It is probably the same as Biruktawit, which seems to be a fairly common given name for girls in Ethiopian families living in the United States. But I haven't been able to find a derivation for it beyond that yet.
