Help[Surname] Storm?
My grandfather on my father's side ran away from home at 14, joined the military, and they "Americanized" his last name into Storm.
We have no idea where his family was from originally, though we know that his parents were immigrants.
Because of the tension surrounding his childhood, he would never talk to anyone about his life before the military, and wouldn't say anything about his changing of names.
All we know is that our surname now is Storm, and that they Americanized his name from whatever is was to Harold Storm.
Anyone have any ideas where other name Storm could have been derived from or what country of origin it might be?
