Meaning of this name

I am trying to find out the meaning of the name "mahi", it is a name for girl. More specifically it's Gujarati (Indian) name... so far I know this about the name:( but I am sure there is another meaning behind it) there is a river called "Mahisagar" in gujrat, India.. the first pronounce is "mahi" and the latter part means 'sea'..

my best guess for Nielan would be blue, coming form Nielam, meaning blue, and other similar words...im not a pro, so ne 1 else?
