[Opinions] Cassia
in reply to a message by CN
I wish it was KAS-ee-ah instead of KASH-uh. I love it as a nn for Cassiopeia and would definitely use it (pronounced my way), but I'd just be worried that people would constantly pronounce it wrong (even though I think my way is more intuitive for English and Italian speakers, which is who she would grow up with).

Huge dittoMaybe Cassia wouldn't be my all-time favourite name even pronounced KAS-ee-ah, but KASH-ah is completely ridiculous to me, since the Russian word "kasha" means porridge. :P

I know a CassiaPronounced like you like it. She goes by Cassie, and I didn't even know this was her name until I saw it on an attendance list.

I completely agree with you. When I first saw this name, I thought it was pronouned KAS-ee-ah and thought it was very beautiful and it was my new favorite name...but then I found out the real pronounciation.
