Aargh! At first, I hadn't seen the gender of the baby, and just saw Olivia and assumed it was a girl, then saw James and assumed it was a boy and I had misread Oliver as Olivia...I thought: "Hmm, not very original, but at least they're normal names." Instead it's an example of the most obnoxious trends ever: traditional boys' names on girls... I hope no one tries to imitate them and we end up with lots of female James and Charles.

Poor girl!!!James on a girl... :DDDDDDD

Haha, that's funny.
They should have at least done Olivia James.

Olivia James......would have been better. That way they could have had the benefit of the doubt concerning James and we could say maybe it's a family surname. James as a girl's first name leaves no doubts. In trying to be original they were just handing their daughter's future class mates a license to tease! :(

Ugh! And they can name her little brother Anastasia Richard... it's a nice, strong name for any type of boy!

Olivia, fine, nice, will age well, more on the classic side. But James for a girl? James? You've got to be kidding me. It's a masculine name people! Why not go with Jamie / Jaime instead I ask?!

Bleah. And, to think, I used to like Brenden Fehr. >__< Why not Jane? Why not Joan or Anne? If he wanted a short and classic name, he had plenty of alternatives other than James. It's not even that much of a standout--I've seen James on girls before. It's not the worst name to be chosen by a celebrity (by far), but I'm still disappointed.

That is so ironic (ed.)My cousin and his girlfriend are thinking of naming their baby girl James Olivia. I think it's terrible, of course.ETA: Someone had written on Wikipedia that Brendan Fehr had a son named James Olivia. (It is now corrected.)

Eh. Not that shocking - haven't we already seen James on a girl with James (Jamie) King?I like it a whole lot more than Audio Science, even if it's not my style.

Oh gosh. I think I just threw up in my mouth...They can name the next two John Ophelia and Jessica Owen .

UGH!I ought to name my son Ophelia. See what happens.

@@They should have saved Olivia for their son.

LOL!At first I thought it was their son. Then I read it was a girl and it made a little more sense. Personally, I'm not a fan of James on a girl.

I suppose I have contradicted myself though. I do rather like Blaise on a female. :-X

Blaise lends itself better to being, for lack of a better word, unisex. When I see Blaise, I don't necessarily assume male. James is traditionally a male name. It's like naming a girl Adam. :)
ETA: I suppose anything could be 'unisex' though. Meredith is traditionally a male name and I don't think I've ever heard of a male Meredith.

I know a male Meredith, he'd usually called Merry. He just retired so I guess I'd put him at 65 or so. He has a twin brother who's called Micky, I'd suppose his full name is Michael thought I've never asked.
