Help[Surname] SMITHBOWER? What is the meaning of this surname?
Does anyone know what SMITHBOWER means?
I do know the family originally came from Germany
in the early 1800's. I've done a little searching and
found lots of information on Smith and some on bower.
But could it really mean a blacksmith's cottage?
