[Opinions] Ivy, Avery, or Hollis?
I really liked Hollis for the third name of this set, but I'm not too sure anymore. So what would you use?
Laurel
Oliver
Ivy

Hollis screams Hollister to me.

Hollis
I think it adds more of a different sound to the sib set if that makes any sense. It's different enough to stand on it's own but has the same kind of feel to pull off the sib set.

Hollis, definitely.

So...
Ivy
Oliver
Laurel
They don't sound too...matchy to anyone?

I love Hollis, but I'd go for Ivy.
Ivy, go with Ivy.
:)

Hollis
Hollis on its own, but
Laurel, Oliver and Ivy as a sib set.

Ditto.
Ivy
That's why I'm trying to find another name to go because so many say that Hollis is a boys name. And even though I like Hollis for a girl, a daughter might want to kill her mother for naming her that, lol. And I do not like Holly...didn't really like Ivy or Avery either, but can't seem to find the right name...if you have any suggestions I would appreciate it. Thanks for your thoughts.
Happy to oblige. Laurel, Oliver and:
Hilary
Honor
Hesper (= setting sun)
Solace
Artemis
Eirlys
Glynis
Alix
Iris (again, too botanical?)
Fidelis (nn Del?)
Clemence
Charis / Carys
Maris
Damaris
Nerissa
Larissa
April
Beryl
Sorrel
Jonquil
Briar
Linden (too similar to Laurel?)
Robin
Devon (county in southern England, rhymes with Kevin)
Maren
Amelie
Sylvie
Sunny (as a nn for Sunniva, Sonya, Alexandra, Soleil?)
Sonnet
Meadow
Willow
Margot
I can really see a sibset of Laurel, Oliver and Devon. But have fun hunting down the perfect rio. Thanks for a fun thread.

Uhhhm,
well it depends which gender you're using them for.
Hollis is a -boys- name in my opinion. and therefore, yes, use it for a boy and not a girl. it'd sadden me to see one of my future sons middle name son a little girl.
Avery has grown on me for a girl, mostly because I have a neice called Avery. but yes, it is a boys name and I think I prefer it on a boy.
and I just dislike everything about Ivy.

Ivy.
Ivy, because...
Laurel, Oliver and Hollis would all have that open "au" sound in them.
So that eliminates the original combo, imo.
And as for Avery, I don't find the name very female, it's OK, but Oliver and Avery sound so... similar, because of the same stress, I guess.
I find Hollis better than Avery but Ivy even prettier.
First combo.

I hate Avery on either gender, but especially on a girl
And with Ivy, it makes the sibset too themey.

Thanks for your opinion, Ivy and Avery are NMSAA anyway but I was just trying to find other names that might go.
