[Opinions] two twin sibsets I met this week
I met two sets of twins this past week. And the names didn't really fit together in my opinion. It's not my style to name twins with similar sounding names or same letters, but at least to go together in some way. But WDYT? The first was when I went camping and they were friends of a friend.
Jacob -Jake- and Burl (I think Burl is cute, but these two names are different styles in my opinion. I can say that it does sound better when they call Jacob, Jake)The second was today at the co-op I go to. We had an open house, and there was a family with two young twin girls and their names were Devon and Alyssa. They do go better then Jake and Burl. But for some reason they don't really fit to me. I'm not sure why though.

Jacob and Burl -- I think they work together. Rough, mountain-man sounding names like Jake and Burl. Sure. I assume these were twin boys, right? I only ask because I know a woman named Beryl. Normally I've heard it pronounced to rhyme with Cheryl. But she says it just like Burl. Ew! Devon and Alyssa -- They feel OK as a sibling set to me. I really like Devon. I'm used to place names being feminine, so Devon on a girl feels right to me. The only drawback to the name is the confusion with the all male name Devin. But it's not a deal breaker either. Alyssa irritates me personally. But it is a feminine classic with history and a lot of other people love it. So yeah. I can see Devon and Alyssa together as siblings.
