[Opinions] question about name pronunciation
Is Madeleine pronounced mad-a-LAYN? I don't care for the pronunciation MAD-a-lyn, but I love mad-a-LAYN.

Madeline and MadelynI think they are pronounced the same "MA-de-lin". I know I pronounce them the same. I see Madelyn as an Americanized form of Madeline/, which is an English form of Madeleine."You sought a flower and found a fruit. You sought a spring and found a sea. You sought a woman and found a soul. You are disappointed."

MadeleineI pronounce Madeleine as Muh-de-LENN, the way I think the French do. Or Muh-de-LAIN. The "AI" as the "AI" in Claire."You sought a flower and found a fruit. You sought a spring and found a sea. You sought a woman and found a soul. You are disappointed."

No, I've never heard of it being pronounced that way (click the link for the various pronunciations). If you're desperate for that pronunciation you can use Madelaine.
