Dear Mar,
On behalf of our family, I would like to most sincerely thank you for bringing these wonderful people to us. Our lives have changed so much over the past month and we have never been happier or more complete.
Lia (as Jillian prefers to be called nowadays) has been such a brave young woman, it is hard to believe that she is only fifteen years old. Having the support of Scott has really helped her. He's been so wonderful and so in love with both Lia and their beautiful daugther. Baby Marissa Imogen was born two weeks ago, a week early after an easy birth. The doctors were all thrilled with her and said that she was a very healthy, very strong little girl. We're all immensely pleased and she's already charmed us all. Sunny hasn't stopped talking to everyone who will listen (including the dog) about her "widdle lista". That translates as "little sister" to you and I. She's quite enamoured with Lia as well, her new "fat lista". She hasn't yet grasped the concept that fat isn't the same as big but luckily after the initial confusion (and upset due to pregnancy hormones) Lia really took to her and has proved herself to be wonderful with children. She explains so patiently to Sunny how to change Marissa's nappy, how to hold her properly and spends so much time playing with her. My household may have expanded by four people but I've never had so much time to myself! Scott is also a phenomenal father. He's had a lot of practice as he virtually raised Ken by himself after his parents' divorce and because of his abusive step-father. Scott has also proven himself to be a wonderful brother, making sure that he spends plenty time with Ken. They take Marissa every day to the park, just the three of them and every night Scott reads Ken is bedtime story. They're closer than ever and Ken is clearly thrilled as he idolises his brother. He's also forging a strong bond with Robbie. He's never had a real father or mother figure, only Scott, so he loves spending time playing footie in the garden or 'helping' Robbie to cook dinner. He's also taken to being a big brother to Will. He's always helping him to do things properly and looking after him which is wonderful. Will is equally taken with him and loves that they share a bedroom - he told me it was the "most wonderous moment of my life" when Ken arrived. Will has clearly developed me and Robbie's flair for writing!
The living arrangements are working very well. As you may remember, our mansion is very large and the attic floor is split into a separate flat with access to the main house. Scott, Lia and Marissa live up there and are delighted in the freedom this has given them to be a proper family whilst still being close to Ken and having support whenever they need it. They have a master bedroom for themselves (although they've promised that absolutely nothing will happen or there'll be big trouble), an ajoining nursery for Marissa (although she sleeps in between them most nights), a living room, bathroom and small kitchenette. However, they've slotted in so well with us they eat all their meals with us in the main house and spend almost all their time with us in the house or garden.
Again, most sincere thanks from all of us,
Georgia, Robbie, Will, Sunny, Lia, Scott, Ken and Baby Marissa
