We have found four children for you.
Mackenzie Evan [16] and Cassidy Everett [12]
Mackenzie and Cassidy are brothers from Limerick, Ireland. They have been in the system for 8 years- since their single mother passed away (Their father left when Cassidy was born). Mackenzie has made sure that the two have stayed together even though their older sister was adopted earlier. They would like to stay in contact with her- she lives near Cork with her adoptive family. Mackenzie is very protective of Cassidy- or Cassi as Mackenzie has pet named him. Cassidy is quite severly autistic. He has very little speech and is at the level of about a kindergartener educational wise. Cassi can complete simple tasks and can follow step-by-step instructions. Cassi is very close with his brother and will need to be in the same bedroom with him. Mackenzie doesn't mind this at all and, in fact, has been a great help to Cassidy's improvements in language, social skills, and general skills. Both boys enjoy playing sports. Cassi loves football and his favorite position is goalie. Mackenzie, on his own, is quite a sociable boy and has many friends and has had a number of girlfriends. However, he puts his brother before any of them and often does not hang out with them out of school if Cassi was having a bad day, etc. In his bad times, Cassidy hides in corners and has the bad habit to band his head against the wall. To calm him, Mackenzie sings to him- Cassi loves music and knows how to sing hundreds of songs (which seems strange as he doesn't speak well). Mackenzie loves to skateboard and knows a large number of tricks on his board and on bikes. Mackenzie can be weary of strangers and doesn't trust others with his brothers very well.
Shani Aamina [6]
Shani is a sweet girl who lost her parents in riot in her home town in Morocco. Shani speaks Arabic, French, and is learning English. Shani is quite good at math and science. She wants to become a doctor when she is older to help people. Shani enjoys watching over the younger children in the orphanage and tutors all the children in math and science- even children who are 7, 8, 9, and 10! Shani does have nightmares of the riots and occasionally wets her bed. She is very embarassed of this and doesn't tell others so her adoptive parents will need to check on this or get a good system with her to help this. Shani loves to have a smile on her face and has a good sense of humor and loves to laugh. We think that she will need to take some time to accept the adoptive parents as her parents- being it hard to replace them.
Andreea Bianca [1.5]
is a little girl from Romania. Her family left her at the orphange because they could not care for another child- they had already had two and could barely afford them. They hoped for her to have a better chance at a better life. Andreea is a entergetic little girl who loves to play and dress up and cuddle. Andreea loves to dance and play with others. Like other little girls, she loves to attach herself onto her mother figure, right now one of the women who works at the orphanage. She doesn't speak any English, but due to her age, she doesn't speak much of any language at all. We don't suspect her to have any problems adjusting.
