[Opinions] Reese
There was a boy at work today whose name was Reese (prn. REE-see). I'm not a fan. If it was prn. REES, I think I would like it. WDYT?

REE-see? How bizarre. In terms of the more intuitive pronunciation, REES is an alright name, but I only like the original Rhys spelling.

Ew ... I adore Rhys (REES), but I don't care for Reese / Reece, and I really dislike that pronunciation.

Hate it. Just hate it. Not for a girl. Not for a guy. Ugh. :-(

Reminds me of Reeses Peanut Butter Cup!If it was prnounced Rees, I might've liked it but REE-see is just horrible. Sorry.

I don't like it. Not pronounced like that anyway. Plus I much prefer the spelling Rhys on a boy.

Maybe it was a nickname for Reece... at least I hope it was anyway.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking.

That's a good pointWe called my brother Drewy and Drewsky when he was little, although his proper nickname was Drew. It could have been a pet name.

I hope so too.

Honestly, my jaw dropped when I heard it pronounced.

Like the candy? Ugh. The only way I think I'd like that is if it was a family name. I'd prefer it in the middle name spot then, because of the association.I much, much prefer the Rees pronunciation, and I like the Rhys variant.

REE-see is not how Reese's, as in the candy, is pronouncedThough it is sometimes mispronounced this way. It's REESE'S Peanut Butter Cups/Reese's Pieces, etc. Reese is pronounced REES, so Reese's is prn. REES-ez.

Rhys is the only way it works for me.
