Really? I would have guessed it was way more popular than that. I've heard of several little girls named Holly. And I know plenty my age too, but that doesn't really apply.
I think it's an okay name. I do like the plant, so that's a good connection, and the Christmas tie gives it a nice feel to me.
I'd agree with your comment on Holly Louise. It does seem to sound alright, despite the L's. I think it would work fine as long as your last name doesn't have too many L's.
