I've recently come across the name
Sophy, I mean this particular spelling. I didn't even know the spelling until, well, recently.
I've always found the whole name pretty... lame, but more or less nice. Well, it IS on my favs list, but I don't find it particularly interesting.
Reading the spelling
Sophy, I've thought: Well, just another "kreatyve" variant of a classical and classy name. (I know that
Sophy is also considered as a short form of
Sophronia, but let's face it: almost everyone would consider it a modern variant of
Sophie at first sight.)
But now I almost love the spelling. First, it looked a bit trashy to me, but now I find this variant almost as classical as the original
Sophie.
I can almost imagine it in a Dickens novel ;).
I like it now, but I don't love
Sophy or
Sophie enough to actually use it, just btw.
Well, what do you think about it?
