[Opinions] WDYTO Angelia?
in reply to a message by Marla
Yes, I associate it with Jolie. I don't care much for it, but would probably like it better if not for Jolie.
Do you like Angelia? This is my favorite of the "Angel" names.
How about Angelita?

Hmm... Maybe because I'm used to hearing Angelina, I feel like something is missing when I see Angelia. Is it pronounced ann-JELL-ee-uh or ann-jel-LEE-uh? I'm afraid people would call her Angelina her whole life anyway, misreading it or mishearing it.
I don't care for Angelita. I generally dislike the -ita ending. I live in Texas, amidst a large Hispanic population, and generally names ending in -ita are associated with middle-aged Hispanic women: Rosita, Margarita, Lupita, etc. However, I love the name Rita! Go figure. :-)
Thanks for your help!

ann-jel-LEE-uh is how I pronounce it. I don't think people would mispell, but maybe. I don't care as much for Angelita either, but I do like Angelia. Maybe spell it Angeliah? I'm not one for creative spellings, but that would deter the Angelina spelling. Not sure. Angeliah might be mispronounced as an-jel-I-uh.
Oh, I love Lupita. I never heard it before watching Man On Fire. With nn Pita, I think it's so cute (except the similarity to the bread).
