Dear Mr. and Mrs. Winter,
Thank you for your interest in the Time Travel Adoption Agency. We have been lucky enough to find siblings for you to adopt. We believe that they will be good additions to your family and good siblings to Christabel and Polly.
The Barta children, from left to right, are: Violet Amelia, age 9; Emil Richard, age 7; and Helen Louise, age 4. They hail from the year 1913. Violet is as shy as her namesake, but just as sweet. She is nearly deaf and due to the quality of the school she and her brother attended, she has not had enough individual attention to be caught up with other girls her age. However, you will find that she is a quick study and very perceptive. Her brother, Emil, is quite protective of her and very much considers himself the man of the family. He loves playing stickball, but he does so while keeping an eye out on his sisters. And little Helen cannot wait to go to school. She loves to look at picture books on the rare opportunities that she has the chance; otherwise, she is fond of playing on the steps of their building.
The Barta children are without a home after their parents were killed in separate factory accidents. For this reason, it is important that we are able to fit them with a new parent or parents as soon as possible. Thank you for your generous offer to consider taking them in. All of our potential adoptees understand that they may be requested to go by new names in their new lives and are not averse to the possibility, though we at the Time Travel Adoption Agency recommend that a new parent or parents keep at least some vestiges of their old names.
Sincerely yours,
Arraya Light
P.S. After having the children a few months, should you indeed confirm your adoption, we would be delighted to receive a letter in return; it is important for us to follow up on our charges and see if the children are adjusting to their vastly different ways of life.
