Here in the States, I believe it's considered a female name (although a few males might have snuck in here or there). I'm not sure what the usage is abroad, but I think that it's not too masculine, even in French speaking countries. When I took French in high school, our textbook had a older gentleman named Camille for some of our "In the home" exercises. However, there was also a young girl named Camille in some of our worksheets, so that's not much help! From the info on the site, it seems to be more gender neutral.
I like it, and I like its sound better than Camilla. I think it's very light, particularly with the French pronunciation.

Actually, I don't know anyone who thinks of it as masculine. Most people don't believe me when I tell them it's a boy's name, too. The sound of it - and connotation of it - is very feminine in this time and day, I believe. I wouldn't worry about it.

Too masculine? I envision Greta Garbo as Camille. Lots of hooped, white-skirted, ringletted femininity going on there. Not masculine in the least.
I know a young woman named Brigitte Camille. I never really thought about Camille until I learned her full name. I love it now.
She goes by B.C., but I'm the annoying older female in her life calling her by her full name because it's so gorgeous. I think her mother secretly smiles when I do it. She doesn't seem to mind either. :-)

My mom's middle name. She hated it as much as she hated her first name, Zoe.
So she gave all of her children then-popular names, which are now dated, and most people like her names, both first and middle, much more than they like her children's names! She'd be so surprised by that.
But to answer your question, I like it, though I don't love it, and I don't think it's masculine at all.

Not too masculine at all, I really like it. I think it works very well as a mn too.
