[Opinions] NEICE'S TWINS
My neice just gave birth to beautiful twin girls. She named them Hortensia and Hedwig, I was not happy with that, but then again they are not my children. What do you think of these names?

Last summer while i was in France, I learned that "hortensia" was the French term for hydrangia flowers.(or, perhaps "bush" is the better word.)

I don't like that either. I had never heard of either of those and they just don't seem to suit girls at all.

Hortensia and Hedwig are really old ladyish but better than trashy names... are they family names?

You've been told more than once to please refrain from using all caps. Why do you continue? As for the names, I prefer them over made-up nonsense names, but they're nms. ______________________________________________

Agreed - ATTN Jimandlin86This is, by my count, the FIFTH time you have been warned not to post in all capitals. It is rude, it is annoying and it is hard to read. I will ask you again: please do not post in all capitals.

I like Hortensia, and I like Hortense. Hedwig, I don't like so much."No one can make you feel inferior without your consent."

No offence but I think that they suck. Hedwig makes me think of an owl. Hortensia just sounds bad! And double H is bad too. COngrats to her though!Nikki :)Proud Mama! See My Profile!

I don't like those names. Not at all.

I might be the only person on the planet to like the name Hortense. I never thought about it until I saw the movie Secrets and Lies. The character comes from the Carribean and suddenly it put a whole new light on the name for me. I wouldn't ever use it, but I like it. Hortensia is nice too.I love the nn Hedy. Hedy Lamarr anyone? Hedwig isn't a favorite, but I usually rant about giving a child a more formal name, so to be consistant I give the thumbs up to Hedwig. It could grow on me.

exactlythat was going to be my comment--Hedy Lamarr, the "most beautiful woman of her time." Not the biggest fan of these names, but I like this type of names.
