I might be the only person on the planet to like the name Hortense. I never thought about it until I saw the movie Secrets and Lies. The character comes from the Carribean and suddenly it put a whole new light on the name for me. I wouldn't ever use it, but I like it. Hortensia is nice too.
I love the nn Hedy. Hedy Lamarr anyone? Hedwig isn't a favorite, but I usually rant about giving a child a more formal name, so to be consistant I give the thumbs up to Hedwig. It could grow on me.

that was going to be my comment--Hedy Lamarr, the "most beautiful woman of her time."
Not the biggest fan of these names, but I like this type of names.
