I really like it. And it has many nice nickname options.

Reminds me of a fantasy land in fiction.

Pretty. I also like Calanthe.

I don't care for it much... I strongly prefer Calanthe.

Frilly? Why everyone thinks this name is TOO FRILLY? To me it sounds quite normal. Is it too long or difficult to pronounce? Are names Victoria or Alexandra less frilly?

The original name is Calanthe. Adding the extra syllable to make it Calanthia does make it frillier.

No, Victoria and Alexandra are not less frilly than Calanthia, and I love both of those names, and I love Calanthia, too. I guess if you have the kind of taste that likes long, four syllable girls' names that end in A (and I do) you love these names, and if you don't, you consider them frilly.

Hm.. My name's Natalia and I get called that all the time and I never shorten it, except btn :) Nobody has ever told me that my name is frilly. In fact, I think my name is even more difficult to pronounce than Calanthia. Still I don't think Calanthia sounds frilly. I simply don't like short names that sound like nicknames... :)

It's a little much. It's overly frilly and looks very made-up. I love Calla, Calanthe, and Calista, though.

It's okay. It is a little much, but could be worse.
I like Calanthe too, more so as a mn.

I think it's absolutely beautiful. I love the nickname Callie for a girl, and had always thought I'd use it as a nn for Caledonia. But I'd never heard Calanthia before. It's better than Caledonia. I love long and frilly names.

It would be nice on a character, but to weird to use on a real person

Too fancy.:)

I don't like it.

It's Gorgeous....I really love it! It is very similar to my #1 favorite name Corinthia. It's pretty without being too demure and strong without being butch. I always think of a very smart lady when I think of both. I also like all the NNs you can get out of it. Cala, Lana, Thia
