[Opinions] Christopher.
I’m trying to think of a better way to describe my name...

Not the meaning but the sound, flow, and associations with it,
but I really can’t find the words.
Hopefully, someone here can help me!I've disliked my name for about as long as I can remember.
So long - yet painfully unoriginal and boring.
Such a simple and tough meaning. "The bearer of Christ." Jeez Louise.I had finally come to appreciate the name that was given to me about 2 years ago while I was reading a book that had each names meaning but also how the people who wore that name usually grew and what their personalities were like. I told everyone else in the room their names meaning first, before I reluctantly turned the page to Christopher. I said “I know what it means, my name’s nothing special.” However, I was shocked as it described me to a tee. I even think I got the chills. That’s when I realized I am Christopher, Christopher is me! Weird I know. But anyway my question is, what do you think of the name?
Do you think its nice, sweet, tough, boring, ect?
And what do you make of the sound of it, the way it flows?Any little input I would really appreciate!
Thanks!

I love Christopher and I have always had good associations with it. It's nice and it has a good, long history.

I agree with Chrisell. I don't like Chris because I've known a lot of Chrises; not that they've all been bad or anything it just seems so common to me now. But Christopher is elegant, dashing, and sophisticated. I like that it comes from Greek, and I like the meaning, although I understand that some people wouldn't.BTW, I find those books to be kind of... silly. What I mean is, if you turn to any other random page, you'll probably find several other names that describe you suprisingly well... they're written to be like that. Same thing with horoscopes and stuff.I also like namebug, btw : )

I have never been a fan of Christopher, theres nothing wrong with its just not for me. I much prefer Christian. I think its a soft kind of name, I have known a few Christophers in my life (kids and adults) the kids go by Christopher and the adults go by Chris. I don't really like the name Chris for a girl or a boy, my mother-in-law's name is Christine and goes by Chris and if I had a girl (another one) one day I'd hope I could use the name Chrysanthe and nickname her Santhe (san-thee) that and Christian for a boy are about the only Chrys/Chris names I like.

I would have been named Christopher if I'd been a boy (I'm Christine) because I was named after a family friend called Christopher. So I've always had a very strong positive association with it. Plus, I've known a lot of guys named Christopher and they've all been nice, so no one has ever spoiled it for me.I think it's a nice, classic, respectable, uplifting, lively name. It rolls off the tongue smoothly as well. I'd love to use it as a middle name.
