[Opinions] Charlotte
I've been thinking a lot about Charlotte and how elegant it seems to me. I've decided that I kinda love it (I have to go through a whole process before I can 'love' a name - the quirks of being a name nerd ;)). So, a couple of questions about Charlotte:
1. Does it sound nice with sisters Evangeline "Eva", Matilda "Tilly" and Eleanor in your opinion?
2. Or would it possible be best as a middle name for either Matilda or Eleanor? I'm not really sure yet.
3. How many Charlottes do you know? I only know two (and I don't think Charlotte from SATC really counts as knowing ).
4. What is your personal opinion of Charlotte. Dowdy, dated, snobby, name perfection?
5. And lastly, any combos ideas or suggestions?
TIA.

1. Evangeline, Matilda, Eleanor and Charlotte make a great sisterset
2. I prefer it as a fn
3. None
4. It's pretty close to perfection: classic and classy; old-fashioned and modern at the same time.
5. Charlotte Cecilia is my current favourite.

- No, not better as a mn. I'd actually prefer Eleanor as a mn and think Charlotte Eleanor would be better.
3. How many Charlottes do you know? I only know two (and I don't think Charlotte from SATC really counts as knowing ).
- One and she's about 6 or 7 years old.

1. Does it sound nice with sisters Evangeline "Eva", Matilda "Tilly" and Eleanor in your opinion?
I don't see why not (hate Evangeline though - not that you asked). Charlotte, Tilly, Eleanor sounds very yuppie, but I happen to like that.
2. Or would it possible be best as a middle name for either Matilda or Eleanor? I'm not really sure yet.
Well, I love Charlotte, so am torn between wanting you to use it as a mn so there are fewer, and using it as a fn because it's great :p It does work as a mn for either of the above perfectly well.
3. How many Charlottes do you know? I only know two (and I don't think Charlotte from SATC really counts as knowing ).
Quite a few of all ages, but that's the area I live in (Southern England).
4. What is your personal opinion of Charlotte. Dowdy, dated, snobby, name perfection?
Pretty close to name perfection, lol. I've loved it since I was a kid.
5. And lastly, any combos ideas or suggestions?
Put it with something nice like Eleanor or Matilda (but with better flow) and there will be no protests here. (I know, I'm useless at suggesting! Sorry.)

1. yes
2. You could use it as a middle name, but I think it's fine as a first name
3. I only have met 1 girl named Charlotte. I knew her when I was 5 or 6 and in Kindergarten. She lived in my neighborhood, and we rode the bus together.
4. I love this name too. Very cute, and not extremely popular, and I would see a pretty, intelligent, sweet girl / young lady having it.
5. Some combo ideas:
Charlotte Rose (was one of mine)
Charlotte Alexandra (again, one of mine)
Charlotte Grace
Charlotte Lucille
Charlotte Bethany
Charlotte Rosa
Charlotte Rebecca
Charlotte Lillian
Charlotte Victoria
Charlotte Diane / Charlotte Diana
Charlotte Virginia
Charlotte Clarice
Charlotte Estelle
Charlotte Madeleine / Madeline
Charlotte Elizabeth
Charlotte Vivian
Charlotte Elise

I don't know either. Evangeline Charlotte and Matilda Charlotte both flow very well, but Charlotte also sounds very nice with Evangeline and Matilda.

None.

Charlotte is an okay name, but not one that I would use personally. Some days I like it more than others. On some days, I can't get past the fact that it's so close to "harlot." On an American girl, it usually seems snobbish and yuppie, but I like it for a European girl. As you can probably tell, I have pretty mixed feelings about this name. It just depends...

Whoops. I got signed out without realizing it, and now I can't edit my original response. Charlotte sounds great with Evangeline, Matilda, and Eleanor too.
1. Yes
2. Matilda Charlotte is fine. Don't care for Eleonor Charlotte. Charlotte would be better as a fn, imo.
3. I know one who is in her early 40s. I was acquainted with another who went by Char (which I detest). She would probably also be in her early 40s.
4. Lovely and classic. Sweet on a child and will age very well.
5. Charlotte Diana, Charlotte Rose (though Rose as a mn always makes me think of the verb form of rise... Charlotte rose from her chair...), Charlotte Gabriella, Charlotte Genevieve, Charlotte Helena, Charlotte Victoria

1.Sure, why not?
2.I think it would work as a mn for Eleanor, but not Matilda.
3.I have never met a Charlotte in my life.
4.Personally, I think the name is a little prissy and, I don't know, boarding school. Its a soft name, but soft names aren't really my taste.
5.Charlotte Alexandra, Charlotte Bethany, Charlotte Ellen, Charlotte Vivian

1. I believe that Charlotte sounds wonderful with her "sisters."
2. I really do like Charlotte has a sister but I believe it would make a great middle name for both Matilda and Eleanor.
3. I am not aware of any Charlotte's around me.
4. I love the name Charlotte! It is one of my favorites and on my list for a future daughter. I think it is playful, elegant and who doesn't love Lottie as a nickname?
5. My Charlotte combo's are Charlotte Josephine, Charlotte Louisa and Charlotte Belle (all family names). What about Charlotte Beatrice, Charlotte Penelope, Charlotte Cordelia or Charlotte Fiona? All taken rom your list.

2. I personally prefer it as a mn, but in your case it fits better as a fn.
3. Only one; she's about mid-40's
4. I love it as a mn for almost any name. It's cute and elegant as a fn on somebody else's kid, though I hate the nn Charlie.
5. IMO it should be paired with another elegant, girly name: Isabelle Charlotte, Lilia Charlotte, Charlotte Elisabeth, Charlotte Amelia, Charlotte Alexandra
Hope this helps!

1. Sure, I think it sounds fine. I don't think that it's necessary to worry too much about siblings matching, though.
2. I prefer it as a first name in these cases, I think.
3. I only know one that I can think of, and she's probably about thirteen now...but I know of more than one. On the other hand, I live on another continent as you, so I don't know how much it matters.
4. Pretty, but no longer to my tastes. I used to love Charlotte "Lotte" though.
5. Charlotte Saffron, Charlotte Delia, Charlotte Dorothy, Charlotte Magdalene.
