Emily’s best friend recently died of cancer. Do you adopt her two daughters? They are nine and six.
SIran gave birth to a baby girl!
Emily met Anna Kopar when she first started coming to her church with her two daughters, Victoria and Isabella. They quickly became friends and the Kopar family was much a part of the Bonner family. When Anna told Emily that she had been diagnosed with ovarian cancer, Emily and Micah were very supportive of Anna, but she could not fight the cancer for long because of its advanced stage. When Anna passed away, Micah and Emily agreed to adopt her two daughters, now nine and six. Victoria and Bella have had a hard time coping with their mother's death, but Emily drew on her experience with losing her father to cancer at a young age and has been helping the girls adjust to having three little brothers and new parents.
Siran has had a busy two years, traveling as an international broker. She's been to France, Spain, and Sweden and she travels to Brazil, the Carribean, and England on a regular basis. While in England, she met Peter Miles McPherson. Peter is a lawyer in Salisbury, England. She and Peter have been dating for the past year and have announced their plans to marry once their daughter is six months old. While we do not condone Siran for have a baby outside of wedlock, we are glad that she is getting married, and she seems to care a lot about her daughter, whom she named Sierra Kohar. Peter suggested the name Sierra and Siran chose her middle name, Kohar, because it is a symbol of her nationality and it means "jewel".
Rachel is one of the leading swimmers on her college's team, and she is also doing well in the nursing program. She has one more year, then she will become eligible to become an RN and she hopes to specialize in pediatric nursing, working with children. Rachel has not found a boy that she's interested in just yet, but she's waiting for just the right one.
Izzy participated in her first Olympics last year. She really enjoyed it and came home with a bronze individual medal (for her floor program) and a silver team medal. She really enjoyed competing and plans to continue doing so and preparing for the next Olympics. Izzy is pouring all of her spare time into her gymnastics--but she has managed to find an online college program where she's taking two courses per semester. She's hoping to eventually get a degree in exercise science.
Jonny started high school last year. He is really enjoying hanging out with friends. He loves his biology class this year and is spending his spare time practicing his guitar for the band.
Elijah and Bobby started middle school this year. Both boys are having a blast. They are both playing soccer at school, and Elijah is also in several different clubs. Bobby spends most of his spare time reading, or at the library getting books to read.
