[Opinions] Lotus ?
I'm kind of starting to like the name Lotus for a girl. Maybe just as a middle name but it's just such a nice name. What do you think of it ? Do you think Cordelia Lotus is a good combo ?
Oh and what do you think of Ione ? I love it but everytime I look at it I just see "I" (as in I am hungry) and "one" (as in the number 1) even though it's pronounced differently. I love the meaning as well.
What do you think of the name Shen ? It is a boys name but can be used for girls as well (my Chinese friend is named Shen and she's a girl).
Yeah those names are a bit more unusual than what I usually like but I think they make nice middle names.
oh and we do not have the Lotus car in this country so that wouldn't be a problem

Lotus is a brand of feminine hygiene products
There's a new tea-shop/cafe in our town called "Lotus Bleu." (my town is French-speaking).
That might be a pretty, if far-out-ish name.
I visualize a skinny little girl with long dark hair.

I love Lotus for a girl. (I love a lot of floral names. :) ) It's been a favorite of mine for quite a while now. I do prefer it in the middle spot, but also like it as a first name.
Cordelia Lotus is pretty.
I also like Ione, but am not fond of Shen.

Lotus is pretty plus I also really like the flower as well. If it weren't for the car, it might be on my list, but since your country doesn't have the car, it seems perfectly fine. Cordelia Lotus flows nicely, but Cordelia is one of those names that I like better on some days than others. In general, I'm not really a fan of Delia and names with -delia in them. I personally prefer Ophelia because of its softer sound.
As for Ione, I think it's pretty. I also like Iona, but sometimes I can't get past the fact that it sounds like "I own a."
Shen is NMS. It's too close to "shin" for my liking.

I love Lotus! It's so gorgeous and floral, but neither frilly or overused. It's fantastic. Although I dislike the sound of Cordelia, it's a great name, as is Cordelia Lotus. And Ione is wonderful, but not something I'd use simply because of the prn problems. I still really love it though. Shen is nms, but I tend to not like the sounds of Chinese names anyway.
Oh, I think Lotus is lovely - especially as a mn. I also like Lotis, which some other poster claimed was a Greek mythological name.
Ione is really ugly, both in appearance and sound. It seems very hillbillyish. Sorry.
Shen is cute, though I would prefer it on a boy.
Go ahead and like unusual mns. I've always felt that the mn slot is the perfect place to put one's gps.

That should read lac. Sorry.
The combination of Cordelia Lotus sounds surprisingly pleasant to me. Lotus sounds more like a boy's name to me (for whatever reason...I think weird things). I'm certain it could grow on me if I gave it a chance, though.
I don't have your problem when I see "Ione". I simply hear it as "ee-own-ee" (almost sounds like Hermione, if you think about it...)
Shen's an interesting name. It definitely sounds Chinese. It doesn't particularly suggest either gender to me.
