Siri'd be a cute nick for a female Sirius..
2 things to prepare your comebacks for if you seriously do this..
"Sirius" sounds just like "serious," and Sirius is the "Dog Star."
As well, the brightness idea is sweet, but will seem quite corny to many. Good luck.
