[Opinions] Georgia and a few others + need some help from people who speak French
I'm starting to really like this name. And it seems underused in the USA. Now I'm wondering, is this name very popular in Australia/England and other countries ? How many do you know ?Do you pronounce it like Jor-ja or Jor-jee-a ? I prefer Jor-ja.I absolutely hate it spelled Jorja, though. It must be the worst misspelling of a name ever.I also like the nn Georgie. Also what do you think of:Talitha (not Tabitha)
Ronia or Roniya
Keziah
Tudy (no this is really not Trudy, I mean Tudy)
LindleyAsher (too feminine ?)
Conrad (an old favorite but I asked opinions from my mom who is half French and she said it reminded her of a French word with a really bad meaning. I didn't have time to ask her what it was and even though I speak French I couldn't think of it so I need help).

I like the name Georgia and pronounce it as jor-ja. It is quite popular here in Australia and has been for many years. I also like Talitha, Keziah and Asher. I don't find Asher feminine, no, not with this spelling anyway.

I pronounce it Georgia and it is pretty common in Australia and I think maybe even more so in the UK.

I don't really like Georgia, but there's nothing wrong with it at all. I pronounce it Jor-ja. Georgie is cute though.Talitha - The more I hear it the more I like it, but I don't think it'll ever be a favourite.
Ronia/Roniya - Never heard either before, and not really my style.
Keziah - It's nice, but not amazing.
Tudy - I think if you named a child this they would constantly be explaining that their name is not Trudy.
Lindley - It's OK, sound sort of trendy-ish though.
Asher - I don't think it's feminine, but I can see where others might, so I'm not sure on it.
Conrad - My grandfather and cousin's name, and they are both French. I don't think it should be a huge issue.

Georgia is a pretty name, but it's not something I would use myself. I hate the nn Georgie. I only know of one Georgia (she is probably in her 70s). BTW I'm in the U.S.I pronounce the name JOR-ja. I also really dislike the spelling Jorja. My opinions on the other names:Talitha (not Tabitha) - Don't care for it.
Ronia or Roniya - I prefer Ronia to Roniya, but neither one is really something I'd use.
Keziah - Pretty sound, but not something I'd use. I could imagine it as the name of a food dish even though it isn't.
Tudy (no this is really not Trudy, I mean Tudy) - I really dislike this, sorry. It reminds me of tooting.
Lindley - Okay. I prefer Linley though.Asher - I really like this name. I don't think it's too feminine at all.
Conrad - Decent.

Georgia is ok, but I'm not crazy about it. I love Talitha, (most Tal names actually, and way better than Tabitha). I hate Tudy and Lindley, sorry.PROFANITY WARNING
I love Asher, I don't think it's feminine. As for Conrad, "con" in French is an insult (like saying someone is an asshole, but means "cunt") , but I really don't think it would be a problem, esp. outside of a French-speaking context. It's a nice name.

I don't know any Georgias, but the idea of saying it jor-jee-ah just feels superwrong to me. Gives my skin the shivers--that's not how we say the state is my immediate, if not particularly fair, reaction. ;)I prefer George (and Georgy) as nicknames for Georgina. Georgia seems much too short to require a nickname to me. In fact, I think I prefer Georgina to Georgia today, though I do like Georgia. And I can't stand the idea of Jorja, though I can empathize with the sentiment behind it--I don't really like the look of "Geo-" a lot of days myself.I love Talitha and Keziah. Ronia and Roniya are both fine for someone else's kid, but I'd pronounce them differently enough that I can't think of them as alternate spellings of the same thing. Tudy and Lindley, ick. I like Trudy and Lindy, though! The day Asher is too feminine is the day I'll weep. It's not a particular favourite of mine, but it doesn't sound feminine in the slightest to me, ugh. And I can't think of any French words that sound like Conrad, but I do like it okay.Array
