[Opinions] New Norwegian princess
Princess Märtha Louise of Norway and her husband Ari Behn got their third daughter yesterday, Maud Angelica's (5) and Leah Isadora's (3) sister: Emma Tallulah.
Her cousins are Ingrid Alexandra (4) and Sverre Magnus (3), children of crown prince Haakon and crown princess Mette-Marit.
WDYT?The Norwegians seem quite upset about the not very Norwegian name Tallulah. They were upset about Isadora too, 'cause many apparently considered it just a makeup brand, not a real name... :P

Emma is boring. I'm getting really sick of it. I don't even think it's pretty. Tallulah is awesome, I love it. Too bad that she'll probably go by Emma.I love Isadora as well. Leah is okay. I dislike Maud. Why are they upset ? I mean her first name is Emma, not Tallulah even though I wish it was hehe.

Norwegians often go by both their names, like Märtha Louise. ;)

Emma Tallulah doesn't sound like a princess's name at all. It's very Hollywood-trendy. Nix.

I would prefer something more classic or more Norwegian, they don't seem very princessy at all. Ingrid Alexandra is nice.

I've never been able to get into TallulahIt annoys me to no end, because it seems that everybody on here sees an undeniable beauty in it. And I want to see that! But I just can't. Whenever I hear the name Tallulah I picture a spoiled chihuahua in a pink tutu. I don't know, I guess it's just nms. Anyway, I think Louise is darling and Leah Isadora is gorgeous. Sverre is wicked cool.

Witness the decline of royaltyNothing inherently wrong with the decline of royalty. I just am a little sad about it. Emma Tallulah is a fully trendy American name. I would never guess it for a Norwegian princess. Not that there is anything wrong with anyone, anywhere using any name they please. ... I just like regional distinctions, I guess. I also like the small, familiar, and widely-translatable namebank that is usually used by royalty. Leah and Tallulah are very solidly not in it. But it's fine. Emma Tallulah's fine.

I had the same reactionThe names made me a little sad. For any other family I'd be thrilled. It's not fair I suppose. But I expect names that transport me back into Norwegian history.

Tallulah is a name for a redneck, NOT a Norwegian princess! Emma might be Norwegian...it exists in a lot of European languages.

What exactly makes Tallulah a redneck name?I'm all ashiver waiting to hear.

She is not a princessPrincess Märtha Louise's daughters are not princesses and in fact have no royal or aristocratic titles. I think that's why she has more freedom with the names than the crown prince.
