I think place names that are significant to the parents are kind of neat for middle names. But on its own, I don't think Alabama makes a good name. It's too tied to the South, and it makes me think of, like Murasaki said, poverty and backwardness.

Oh, and Alexis Alabama doesn't sound good since they both start with Al-.
