I've only met/known of a few Aylas, and they were all "AY-lah" ('ay' as in "hay"), but I could see how it could be pronounced like Isla, as well. Any way you spell EYE-lah, it's going to have pronunciation problems, though, it would seem. :b To me, even though Ayla is not a modern or made-up name, it has that feel. Maybe because it makes me think of Kayla or Jayla. I like the sound and idea of Ayla, but it's not a big favorite.
