What does everyone think of the name Dante. I think it's cool, but I wouldn't use it for a first name

I love the name Dante. It's on my list. It's not common at all (at least around here) and it's not a name that's "out there".

I think it's all right, but only on the condition that it is pronounced DAHN-te and not *retch* dawn-TAY.

I think it's gorgeous. But it's definately a GP for me. I can't see myself using it.

Dante was in the top 100 in Sweden in 2007 (#90) and it's one of the names that are increasing the most in popularity (#2). I think Dante is ok, but I don't see anything special about it. I'm kind of indifferent.

I think it is a bit effeminate, unfortunately. Additionally, here in Perth there is a paedophile murderer (in gaol thank goodness) whose first name was Dante. So it's incredibley tainted for me.

I don't like it. It makes me think of hell, as in Dante's Inferno. Also think it sounds "down market"
