Today, the name Sadie is calling to me. WDYT?
I saw someone's post about Verity a few days ago (don't remember who, sorry), and now that's calling me, too. Question: Could Verity work as a boy's name? I read a book series a few years ago were Verity was a boy. I like it for both genders?
Any combo ideas? Both of these names are on the classic side, imo. I'm looking for 'fresh' middle names to pair with them (vague, right?). Something in the vein of Sadie Wren, but with a little better flow (though I like Sadie Wren).

No, I'm all for unisex names and virtue names should be fair game for both but some work better than others I feel. I'd not be opposed to a boy Verity but I'd hope he had a solid male name in the middle just in case he couldn't handle the TRUTH ;)

I agree some work better on certai ngenders, but I feel in general all are fair game. I ageee about giving more strong middle names that define the child's gender.

Verity doesn't work for a boy so much now, IMO.
I'm sure it did once ;) Middle name maybe?
Sadie and Verity are neat. While Sadie is technically a bit vintage I still see it as the sassier form of Sarah so I wouldn't go too kooky for a middle name. In saying that though I like Sadie Morwenna nicknamed Sadie Wren.

Sadie and Verity are neat. While Sadie is technically a bit vintage I still see it as the sassier form of Sarah so I wouldn't go too kooky for a middle name. In saying that though I like Sadie Morwenna nicknamed Sadie Wren.

Sadie's nice and not overdone... could work. Verity likewise. Wouldn't use it on a boy as it sounds too girly.

I really love Verity, but to me it is very feminine. Sadie is really cute too I think. They are both on the classic side but not overly so which is nice. I like Sadie Wren. I actually like the idea of bird-inspired middle names with these two like Wren, Lark, Sparrow, Dove, etc. Very sweet

I associate Sadie with the word "sad" and Sadie makes me think of someone...well...sad. :D
I know a Finnish oboe teacher named Seidi and I wondered for a long time, where did her parents find such a weird name (I thought that's a creative variant of Heidi, which is a very popular name here) - I realised only this week Seidi and Sadie are pronounced the same way. Of course!
These are the associations with Sadie. Would be a nice nickname to Sarah - much better than Sallie.

Mm, to me, Verity has always been a very sweet, "introvert", aquarelle-coloured name. Female name. Maybe this is only me and I'm old-fashioned, but Verity has got such a delicat feel that only a female name could have. Some of the male names do have that attitude, too, but the accents are a little different. Yarden is a good example.

Love Sadie. It's on my top 10 right now. Verity is ok, I guess it could work for a boy or girl.
