I was watching an episode of "
Cadfael" the other evening, "A Morbid Taste for Bones."
For those who are unfamiliar, it's a TV mystery series based on books. They are set in the 1100's England during the time of the civil war between
Queen Maud /
Matilda and
King Stephen. The sleuth is a monk named
Cadfael who uses reason while everyone around him is mired in superstition. I highly recommend the series.
Anyway, this particular episode takes place in Wales. The main female character's name intrigued me. They called her, "SHAWN-ett." Like a dutiful name nerd I read through the credits to find it is spelled
Sioned.
So, this is a very long-winded way of asking you what you think of
Sioned. It is a variant of
Sian, and roughly equivalent to English
Janet.
I'm not seriously considering using
Sioned, don't worry. It just strikes me as very pretty and a nice mn for the right combination. Care to come up with any combos?
