[Opinions] Virginia
This used to be my favorite name and I'm rediscovering it at the moment. I like it. It's classic yet unusual and charming.
Do you like Virginia? Would you use a nickname for it (Virgie, Ginny, Ginger)? I wouldn't. I only like it in its full form though Ginny is okay. I dislike Ginger.
Do you know any girls named Virginia? How old are they? Do they have a nickname? Do they ever get teased? Do they like their name?
Would you use it? Do you think she'd get lots of virgin jokes? Would that be a big problem?
do you see it rising in popularity or going down further?
What do you think of the combo Virginia Plum?
lots of questions, I know :P

I never liked this name, but I'm just now starting to. :]
I don't think I'd use a nickname for it. That's the problem I have, though - I love it, but it seems a little too much for a little girl. A nickname, at least for sometimes, would be lovely, but I can't think of one I like.
I don't know any Virginias, but I know of one. I don't know her age, but she's elderly, I'd imagine. And there's V.C. Andrews (although her real name is Cleo Virginia, I believe), of course.
I don't really think there would be too many virgin jokes. Most people, around here at least (but of course, this is West Virginia...) think of the state, not the meaning of the name.
I can't say I'm a fan of Virginia Plum. :\ It sounds like a plum grown in Virginia to me.

You live in West Virginia?
Yep.
:]
:]
I knew a girl called Virginia. She hated her name. People made fun of her and until she grew up she didnt understand why which i thought was really cute. I think people are a bit hesitant about using it as it is prone to rude nicknames. It really is a lovely name.
I really like Virginia. My favorite nicknames are Gina and Ginny.
I don't know anyone named Virginia.
I wouldn't use it, but only because I don't like it enough. I don't think she'd get a lot of virgin jokes, and even if she did, being a virgin is a good thing to me. I don't think it would be an insult to be called that at all.
I think it could be a name that could become more popular. Not get very popular, but more common than it is.
Virginia Plum is cute.

I like it very much, though I'm a bit bothered by potential "virgin" jokes too. But I doubt it would be really really bad. I've never met anyone with this name.
