DH: John Walter Jr. "Jack" (23)
DW: Marie Frances (Ingram) (20)
DS: John Walter III "Jonny" (newborn)
Jack Fields and Marie Ingram grew up together in a small Indiana town. Their families are both farming families who work hard to make a living. Jack was born in 1877, the third of four brothers. Marie was born in 1880, the second of three children. The two went to grade school together, and Jack started farming with his father when he was sixteen. Jack and Marie started courting in 1895, when he was eighteen and she was fifteen. By 1898, they had plans to marry. Jack's father helped him put a down payment on some available land, and he proposed to Marie. In 1899, the two were married and had started to live on the farm. Jack farmed the land, and Marie kept house for him in addition to helping her mother raise her young brother, Thomas, who was eight at the time.
Now, in late 1900, Jack and Marie have welcomed their first child! Its a little boy! They decided to continue Jack's family tradition of naming the first son after the father. So, little John Walter Fields the Third, known as Jonny, was named. Marie loves having a baby of her own, and hopes to have many more--or at least three or four. Jack is very proud of his son, though he was nervous because Marie got sick a lot during her pregnancy. During the last few months, she even moved back home with her parents since Jack was out in the fields all day and wasn't there to keep an eye on her.
Jack, Marie, and Jonny are busy building a happy life for themselves.

Henry and Ruth are both wealthy aristocrats forced into an avantageous marrige by their parents. Having only been married for a few years, they're still getting used to each other- even when they welcomed their first daughter, Mathilda Henrietta Dupont.
But things aren't completely ice-cold between the couple, despite the strained circumstances. They come to see that, even if they may never fall completely in love, a close friendship is certainly on the table.

DH: David Joseph (19) [b. 1881]
DW: Nora Elizabeth (17) [b. 1883]
DS: James William (nb) [b. 1900]
David and Nora were engaged to be married in 1899, but then the British entered the Second Boer War and David, being in the military, was obliged to ship off to South Africa. The wedding was postponed, which caused quite a scandal because soon thereafter Nora discovered that she was pregnant. When word reached David that Nora was expecting their first child, he tried in vain to return to London so that he could marry her. To no avail: their son, James, was born seven months later, while David was stationed thousands of miles away. But only a few weeks later, David sustained a combat injury that left him unable to properly use his right hand. Such an injury merited a trip home, since he could no longer fire a gun. Upon returning to England he immediately married Nora, eager to begin his new life with his family.

DH: Arthur Henry Charles (32)
DW: Edith Frances [Jenkins] (21)
DS: Arthur Henry Charles, Jr. "Charlie" (nb)
In 1897 the 18-year-old miss Edith Jenkins had just accepted a position as a school teacher at a young women's college in a larger city. She knew no one in this city, but she soon befriended another teacher at the college, a miss Dorothy Ethel Pearl Washington, who was in her mid-twenties. Dolly, as Dorothy was affectionately nicknamed by friends and family; invited Edith to spend Thanksgiving with her and her family.
Here Edith met Dolly's charismatic older brother Arthur. Edith was immediately drawn to Arthur although Arthur did not seem to care much for this new arrival at the family home.
Arthur had recently suffered from a great personal tragedy and was not looking for a new love. Arthur had lost his wife Sigrid two years earlier. She died shortly after the birth of their first child; a daughter, Alma Mathilde Kathrine, who sadly passed away only two months after her birth.
Arthur was deeply wounded because of this terrible loss but he eventually warmed up to this kind-hearted, gentle, intelligent and fun friend of Dolly's; this young girl named Edith.
Edith and Arthur grew to care very much for each other and they courted for two years before marrying in December 1899.
7½ months later they welcomed their first child together, a son; Arthur Henry Charles, Jr. He goes by Charlie and is very loved by his entire family.

Trace and Cammie have Ethel
---
Cammie was only ten when she met fifteen year old Trace. He teased her, and she hated him. He, however, knew that she was the girl he would marry.
When she was 13 (he was 18), they began courting (Cammie saw that Trace had become more mature over the years). They married just after Cammie's 14th birthday.
Both of them had rather wealthy parents, so they already have a decent home. Trace is working at his father's law firm. Cammie stays home, with their little daughter, Ethel Sofia Everhart.

DH: William James (21) (born 1879)
DW: Mary Bertha (18) (born 1882)
DS: William "Will" James II (nb) (born 1900)
Mary and William knew each other since they were just children since William was friends with Mary's older brother. For most their childhood, William didn't pay any attention to Mary and she didn't pay attention to him either. When they got older the two started to like each and started to date one another. Only four months after they started to date they got married to one another.
Seven months later they welcomed a healthy (not premature) baby boy who they named William "Will" James II. William and Mary were both very happy it was a boy. William because the son would be able to carry on his name and help more when he was older. Both William and Mary want to have more children soon.
