[Opinions] Callisto?
I love Calliope but the pee sound at the end is bothering me, so I'm looking for alternatives. I thought of Callisto which I find very pretty.
- Do you think a Callisto could go by her full name or would most people shorten it to Callie?
- do you pronounce it kah-LIS-to or kah-LEES-to?
- Which is more authentic? Kallisto, Callisto, Calisto or Kalisto? How would you spell it?
- Do you think it's too weird sounding? Or masculine because of the o ending?
- Calliope or Callisto?

I like Callisto, but prefer Kallisto because it isn't Latinized. People wouldn't use Callie unless they were told to use it. I pronounce it kah-LEES-to. I don't find it weird, but I do like Kallista as an alternative. I prefer Calliope over Callisto.
I like Callisto! I say cah-lis-toe.
It's ok, though not the sort of name I'd use. Overall, I prefer it to Calliope.
Callisto = "kah-LISS-toh"
I like it.
I like it.
I like Callisto with this particular spelling. I think it's beautiful and has a beautiful meaning.
I for one am not for shortening names like this into more common nicknames. It's such a beautiful, special name and I think you take away all it's beauty and mistery if you shorten it.
So to make it short I like Callisto, I prefer Callisto over Calliope and wouldn't shorten it to Callie. I think it stands very well on its own.
