[Surname] Re: Orticelli?
It should come fom place names like Orto, Orti or Orta or Orticelli a little village of the area of the nearby province of Avellino. In fact many of the italian Orticelli still live in Fondi (Latina).
Orticelli could be a nickname of the person who sold vegetables. By the way"Orto" in Italian means "kitchen-garden"
