Noel. *sigh*Noel for a boy is "nohl," like Noel Coward. I'm with you 100%.I agree with your friends, but ONLY when two dots are over the 'e.' (I can't remember what they are called in French.) The purpose of the two dots is to make it clear that each vowel has its own distinct sound. No two dots -- no two sounds. Think: The First Noe"l. Perhaps if you point this out to them and settle the debate once and for all.I used to rant about this but I got tired and gave up. It's nice to know someone else feels the same way.Anyway, back to Patrick. I'm glad you liked the first course.
